L’etichetta pugliese RadioSpia pubblica il singolo di esordio della
band capitolina Hunkies: un interrogativo esistenziale assolutamente attuale.
Cosa ne pensate di questo mondo? In questo recente periodo ce lo stiamo chiedendo in molti. L’Uomo si pone domande e cerca risposte utilizzando da sempre la propria creatività e, analogamente, gli Hunkies si chiedono se l’umanità sarà mai capace di domare la propria tendenza auto-distruttiva, mentre ci suonano un bel blues-funk attuale e fresco, che infonde positività e ci fa battere il tempo.
Una coesistenza di fattori assolutamente fantastica, che ha convinto l’etichetta pugliese RadioSpia ad affrontare la produzione e a far girare l’interrogativo fra il pubblico, fra gli estimatori del buon rock sanguigno e attuale.
Questo singolo di esordio degli Hunkies punta, quindi, a contenuti immediati, analoghi all’urgenza del presente momento storico. E sarà la Musica, anche in questo caso, a saper trasmettere, meglio di milioni di parole, il tipo di futuro che siamo tenuti a riconquistare per noi stessi e per i nostri figli, dopo questa dura prova per l’intera Umanità chiamata Covid-19.

Biografia:
Gli Hunkies si formano nel Marzo 2017 nell’hinterland romano con l’incontro tra Simone Nisom (chitarra e voce), Daniele Imperioli (basso e coro) e Alessio Milana (batteria). Il nome della band, dopo alcuni cambiamenti, prenderà una piega definitiva poco prima della pubblicazione di questo singolo per RadioSpia records. I tre fondono le proprie influenze blues e funk per esplorare nuove possibilità creative e sonore, con naturalezza e grinta, connubio di una musica intensa e divertente.
I concerti della band iniziarono nel giugno 2017 a Isola Del Liri, città famosa per il gemellaggio con New Orleans (capitale americana del Blues) e hanno poi toccato diversi importanti live club nel Lazio. Con la traccia 1 di questo singolo, gli Hunkies vinsero il premio “High Quality Artist” del Tour Music Fest 2018, tra i primi 20 di 7000 partecipanti.
Credendo che ogni musicista, con la propria musica, produca una proiezione di se stesso e delle proprie emozioni, la band suona brani originali con l’attitudine a messaggi universali.
Alessio Milana
Entra nel mondo della batteria all’età di 15 anni, da autodidatta. Successivamente studia presso una scuola locale e comincia le prime esperienze con alcune band. Dal 2015 al 2018 prosegue gli studi presso il Saint Luis College of Music di Roma, ampliando il proprio bagaglio culturale e musicale.
Daniele Imperioli
Inizia a studiare canto a 17 anni con Marta Capponi e poi con Titta Tani a Roma. Si innamora anche del basso e lo approfondisce con Silvio Assaiante.
Simone Nisom
Inizia a suonare la chitarra a 14 anni. Ha conseguito nel 2017 una laurea in Scozia con il titolo di Bachelor of Arts in Musica Moderna. Dal 2017 al 2019 ha insegnato chitarra presso la “Scuola di Musica Dimensione Suono” di Valmontone ed ora è docente e direttore tecnico presso la “New Music Academy” la quale ha ottenuto la convenzione con il Conservatorio di Latina.

Giovanni Mastrangelo: Albert Camus
Nella città-deserto, crudele ma rassicurante, si suona in modo speciale
Dal 26 aprile in distribuzione internazionale, la decima pubblicazione dell’etichetta pugliese
RadioSpia è un viaggio musicale nella poetica del Premio Nobel francese.
Presentato nella sede dell’etichetta RadioSpia, 
con una doppia anteprima per Stampa ed operatori, ALBERT CAMUS rappresenta l’esordio discografico solista di Giovanni Mastrangelo: un’opera particolare, ricca di contenuti e spunti di riflessione, pubblicata in tutto il mondo il 26 aprile.
La presentazione è stata moderata dal giornalista musicale Damir Ivic, considerato attualmente uno dei più grandi esperti di musica indipendente in Italia, con diversi libri all’attivo e collaborazioni con Il Mucchio Selvaggio, Dissonanze, Soundwall, DNA concerti, Red Bull music ed altri. Lo stesso Ivic ha così definito la pubblicazione: “Espressività ai massimi livelli: nella qualità dell’esecuzione, nell’accuratezza della registrazione, nella forza narrativa della scrittura – elegante, evocatica, perfettamente calibrata”.L’opera, realizzata con la produzione artistica di Marco Maffei e suonata dallo stesso Giovanni Mastrangelo, insieme a Lucio Pentrella, Antonio Cicoria e Pierpaolo Gaudiano, rappresenta un viaggio musicale nelle riflessioni filosofiche e narrative di Camus, nei turbamenti dell’animo umano di fronte all’esistenza, con un sottofondo fatto di torrido ed insopportabile calore. 
Come un parallelismo fra le “città-deserto” delle estati pugliesi (tipo Foggia) e il deserto presente spesso nei suoi libri, il brano mette in musica la voglia di combattere e di affrontare l’assurdo dell’esistenza, definito dallo stesso Camus come “il divorzio tra l’uomo e la sua vita”. Una produzione durata circa otto mesi, con la quale RadioSpia ha voluto spostare ancora in avanti l’asticella della propria linea editoriale.
Ricordiamo che la mission dell’etichetta (nata nel 2012 e fortemente voluta dal sound engineer Marco Maffei) è porre in “relazione creativa” artisti pugliesi con “altri” artisti e con “altri” territori, in modo da coltivare uno stile espressivo unico e all’altezza dei mercati musicali internazionali.
Una tale vocazione ha già portato questi pugliesi a sinergìe con Andrea Chimenti, Dandy Bestia (Skiantos) ed altri nomi di spessore.
Gli invitati alla presentazione di Albert Camus hanno potuto ascoltare una esecuzione dal vivo dell’opera, interagendo con Damir Ivic, con la band e con la produzione. Hanno goduto anche di un ascolto del master audio di tipo immersivo (in surround), una scelta sonora che ne valorizza ulteriormente i contenuti artistici e stilistici.
Il progetto musicale (descritto dall’artista):
Alle nebbie parigine e soffocanti di J.P.Sartre ho sempre preferito i cieli abbacinanti e crudi che Camus descrive nel suo libro forse più conosciuto e letto: “Lo straniero”. È un meridione assolato e marino quello che il Nostro descrive spesso nei suoi libri, e questa visione in qualche modo ha forgiato la mia adolescenza e le sue estati sfiancanti. La sensazione d’un deserto crudele e familiare ad un tempo, torbido ma rassicurante, torrido e inevitabile e nello stesso tempo malinconico, come solo l’estate di Capitanata può esserlo.
La mia città, durante gli anni ’80, si spopolava nei primi giorni di giugno con l’arrivo della bella stagione. Una città-deserto fatta su misura per chi rimaneva lontano dalle spiagge, con un senso di solitudine e di calore.
Non posso dimenticare certi pomeriggi estivi della mia memoria, in cui l’unica attività consentita dalla calura era quella di sfogliare pigramente le pagine d’un libro. Camus mi accompagnò in quelle interminabili giornate solitarie e, nell’arsura e nel calore, mi rimane impresso il suo riverbero del cielo sulla lama dell’arabo e l’insostenibile parossismo in cui l’assurdo irrompe per rovesciare per sempre il mondo indifferente e felice di Meursault (lo straniero).
Dal silenzio alla musica, il passo è breve.
Quando Marco Maffei, quasi un anno fa, mi chiese di scrivere un brano, era appunto estate. Non so come, ma a volte la famosa memoria involontaria proustiana può farci rivivere e sentire brani interi della nostra esistenza. È stato quindi il caso o un appiglio fortuito quello che ha generato il ritorno di quella sensazione passata, il riaffacciarsi di quel calore, di quella lieta malinconia che si è tradotta in musica ostile, ma rassicurante, come solo il deserto può essere (di Giovanni Mastrangelo).

Esposito Gennaro Panettiere Fornaro’s Blues Band: Ungheria
When everybody seems to be good, we decided to be the mistake
The 9th Apulian label’s release puts its feet down and joins the European comedy rock.
The release, called UNGHERIA, was disclosed on February 29, 2016 in the Civic Museum of Foggia, with a first preview for the Press and operators, which involved the band and journalists in an interesting debate about music and contents. UNGHERIA represents the summary of a work started three years ago, which combined a dozen artists with the aim of merging some political themes with the comedy rock, dear to Frank Zappa, Skiantos, Elio e Le Storie Tese and others.
The label RadioSpia, continues to spread its trademark, showing that its international vocation is compatible even with an in Italian language record.
The Maxi-Single UNGHERIA, released on 8th March, consists of three tracks:
1 – Ungheria: It’s a journey through the Eastern European sounds 
and ideologies, in the past, present and (perhaps) future time.
2 – Sono Buono: A new version of the original song by Skiantos, with new music and new lyrics that widen the original message, played with the guitarist Dandy Bestia; he joined the band for the experiment.
[The original “Sono Buono” was published in ’79 with the third album of the Bologna-based famous band, called “Kinotto”. The Italian rockstar Vasco Rossi, in 2009, said he wanted to make a cover of this song, but our EGPFBB have stolen him a march on].
3 – Ungheria (director’s cut): An alternative version that intensifies the journey, letting it start and finish exactly in Apulia.

The band:
Esposito Gennaro Panettiere Fornaro’s Blues Band is a strange set of artists scattered to the Italian peninsula, coming from punk, classical, electro, Dadaism, folk, reggae and Marx Brothers, which talks about important contents just like a real band, without knowing if it will ever want to be a serious band.
EGPFBB includes Valentino Corvino, a well-known violinist, soundtracks composer for cinema and theater, Marco Maffei, a recording studio and live concerts sound engineer who artistically produced the release with Corvino and played some guitars, Dandy Bestia, the legendary Skiantos’ guitarist who played on “Sono Buono”, Pierpaolo Gaudiano on bass and sax, Alessandro Lo Storto on drums, Galileo Rigenerato on percussions, Corrado Rainone and Michele Pensato on declamations and vocals. Antonio Bucci, from the Pseudofonia band, even took part in the recordings playing ukulele, together with the children’s choir “Ketchup Choir” and a choir of Apulian unofficial singers.

It seems a little bit like begging the mirror to reflect about something, instead of reflecting. What has to be, it is. Inescapable. And it is really useless to close your ears. Why, then? Do you think you’ve heard all the possible music? Presumptuous.
Do you believe that the bland bad habit from the national scene do not give rise to any possible news? Idlers.
This band is the result of music that meets non-music, southern and northern compressed in the same heart, about the squeezed time and the lost time, about yin rejecting yang and then crying for that. It’s a bell bicycle that, peremptory, says: “I rang tomorrow”. The figures that play are Valentino Corvino, violinist and co-producer, Galileo Rigenerato and Alessandro lo Storto, drummers near and far, Pierpaolo Gaudiano, bassist from 79 AD. The silhouettes projected on the wall by a candle to the essence of ginger and bacon are Michele Pensato and Corrado Rainone, singers, professionals and declamatory respected elsewhere.
The casus belli, the microscopic drop that broke the camel, is Marco Maffei, sound engineer, connector and producer. The fuse. The trigger. The explosion. C’mon, now you can come home: a broth and go to bed, but first, though, it is really unnecessary to close your ears. They are awaiting you. ”Sis Felix: Motionless Thinking”

of international post-punk, starting exactly from Apulia.
The January 6, 2016 will be even remembered as the recording debut of Sis Felix, with their single called “Motionless Thinking“, the result of a careful production, which re-builds the dark-wave tones, dear to the 80, giving the band an absolutely modern and personal sound. The single, containing the two songs “Motionless Thinking” and “Sorrow”, hammers your soul for 8 minutes, then disquiets and traps the listener’s minds, in order to free them from fears.
With this eighth release, RadioSpia shows that, now, Apulia is not simply the house of rural issues, and that it’s time to claim its role linked to the production of international music, too.
Biography:
The Sis Felix band was born for the first time in 1985, after an idea of Roberto Pellicano (singer) and Sandro Brescia (bassist). They were old friends and wanted to spread their passion for post-punk and dark music in their city in Apulia. In 1987, the band produced a demo tape with 4 original songs, which had a nice review on “Rockerilla” magazine, placing the Sis Felix among a new generation of Italian Rock bands.
The band broke up, and then was reunited in 2012, joining new musicians around Roberto Pellicano and Sandro Brescia: Giuliano Parisi and Giuseppe Mallardo on guitars, Matteo Mucciarone on drums (from 1st Pseudofonia line-up) and Davide Cavallo on keyboards.
After resuming the live shows, mostly in the city of origin, the band was noticed by the head of RadioSpia records, already a fan of the band in the ’80s. The seven men, thus, started the production of two new songs, “Motionless Thinking” and “Sorrow“, focusing on an imprisoning search for answers to the existential questions. The songs express a pounding anxiety and a gloom belonging to dark-wave, updated with contemporary sounding solutions. After months of work, the band and the producer have brought to light a record made of a conscious balance of fat precise sounds, which reports Joy Division, The Cure and David Bowie to these days, without imitating any of them. 
A modern musical style which enhances the dark side of each one of us and proposes itself as a chilling solution.

With their debut, the Sis Felix grasp the essence of reality and the questioning about their desires. They wrap and exorcise the fear with these two post punk / wave songs, which end with a solution: “We stop… and then have the strenght to start again“.

he play the Carmina Burana, in 2015?
The Apulian record label “RadioSpia” has just released an album that comes from a collective
vision: the desire (and the belief) to create the Carmina Burana of today
The just released Album “One Carl Is Undead: An Ideal Today For Carmina Burana” is the answer coming from the creative minds of RadioSpia records, after a two-year research made with artists from different parts of Italy. It is a nine songs album, which combines a symphonic orchestra and a 40 voices choir with performing, manipulation and electronic music coming from several Italian artists: the rock-wave icon Andrea Chimenti, the versatile violinist Valentino Corvino, the brilliant Alba Francesca Battista and other skilled artists and DJs. The result is a 35 minutes journey, ready for the international market.
Carmina Burana, before 2015.
Carmina Burana is a collection of medieval poems coming from the 11th and 12th centuries, mostly in Latin, preserved with an ancient illuminated manuscript. They include four sections deeply observing the temporal condition, representing the human being living between the variability of Fortune, between passions, happiness, the lust for wealth and corruption. For this reason, the medieval world seems to be similar to the contemporary one, with its questions about creation and destiny of mankind. 
“O Fortuna”, which has an important role in this “One Carl Is Undead“, is perhaps the Carmina Burana best-known lyric. It was written by Goliardic authors and by the so-called “clerici vagantes” (wandering clerics); it explains how variable the Fortune could be, positive at first and hostile later, and how it commands any human element: “O Sorte, come la Luna mutevole, sempre cresci o decresci (…)”. Between 1935 and 1936, the German Carl Orff wrote his music for some of the Carmina Burana lyrics, creating the famous scenic cantata with the same name, based on the concept of the Turning of the Wheel of Fortune: on the first page of latin Carmina, in fact, a wheel with four kings and four different leadership positions is represented: “Regno” (I’m reigning) for the one above the wheel; “Regnavi” (I reigned) to the figure on the right; “Sum sine regno” (I am without a reign) to the person under the wheel and, finally, “Regnabo” (I will reign) near the future king on the left. Since February 2015, thanks to the efforts and visions of these Italian artists, a “new kind” of Carmina Burana is born, called “One Carl Is Undead: An Ideal For Today Carmina Burana“.
The Label. RadioSpia Records was founded in 2012 by Marco Maffei (Apulian sound engineer and producer). The aim of its creative staff is to direct the musical talents towards an international dimension. Its music releases have arrived to seven in less than three years, with positive feedback and growing collaborations.

Madame Butterfly and Mr. Bear is a musical duo from Apulia, made up of Valery Mai (singer) and Vincenzo Mascolo (guitarist and composer).
Published by RadioSpia Records, this new project is wholly “made in Apulia” (Puglia), but sounds like an international pop-folk ready for the world. This second record includes four original songs in English (including “What a Wonderful”, their first single, appreciated in the USA and here re-published) and is available on iTunes, Amazon, Google Music, Spotify, Cd Baby and Deezer.
The Band: Madame Butterfly and Mr. Bear started their adventure in 2010 and gave life to a musical project mixing American folk tradition to North-European pop atmospheres, through songs about life experiences and intimate emotions of the two musicians.
After many live performances, in 2011 they appeared in the radio programme RadioSpia (yes, it was a programme before turning into a musical label); in 2013 they participated and won the “Win a hit at Mastering.it” national music contest (with such panel members as Andrea Chimenti and Valentino Corvino) and released the “What a wonderful” single from this experience, raising audience interests in various countries, especially in the U.S. In 2014 the band supported Andrea Chimenti on some tour dates in Apulia, while recording this new E.P. “My blue-eyed guy”, in which the title track talks about an encounter never repeatable between two people, expressing in music the light regret caused by what will never happen between them.
The RadioSpia label was created in 2012 from an independent radio format produced by the sound engineer Marco Maffei from 1998 to 2011, sharing the same name and the same ideals of developing talents and spreading them all through the world. The releases of this label, six in less than two years, particularly head for an international market, as shown by this new production.

“Pseudofonia: KUNZ (2014 Remaster edition)”
The Record: On August the 8th, RadioSpia released KUNZ (2014 Remaster edition), an enhanced edition of the first rare E.P. by Pseudofonia, well known Apulian band from Foggia. The Band had a remarkable success in the decade 1995-2005, toured throughout Italy with their particular blend of folk, patchanka and dialect talking about relevant social issues (migration, crime, land) always giving a great musical sense in their original form of writing.
After 15 years, KUNZ is now re-released by RadioSpia, in a re-mastered version with a bonus-track. This release has been supervised by their same producer and sound engineer of 1999, Marco Maffei.
A work of three months which includes a partial restoration of the songs and the addition of a bonus track performed live (Alla Fiera dell’Est). Is this a first step for the band’s return to the scene?
“KUNZ is a spontaneous record written by young artists, without external expectations and specific ploys” – Antonio Bucci (composer, author and one of the Pseudofonia members) explains – “Today, when I write something, I want it to be different to what I’ve already done in the past, I meditate on the lyrics’ importance and on a minimal use of the instruments, so I often find myself with nothing in hand and I have to restart. (…) In recent years, small labels were able to survive thanks to the concerts; with minimum investments they made revenues with live and these ensured a bit of inspiration and money for the following productions. Today, the possibilities and the proceeds from concerts have become lower (…)“.
About PSEUDOFONIA:
Pseudofonia were born in 1989 as a student music band in the Art Institute of Foggia, in Apulia. After the first years of sound experiments, which led to several demo tape recordings, the band began to take part in various contests, gaining self-confidence in playing a mixture of reggae, ska and soundtracks.
Between Apulia and Jamaica, they played a sort of re-elaborated patchanka, with lyrics about society and surreal stories, between vernacular and Italian, which led them to a series of victories and awards in national contests (Sonica in Catania, Arezzo Wave, Ritmi Globali, Folkcontest , participation in the Festival Interceltique de Lorient, Premio Enzimi di Primavera of the magazine Musica by La Repubblica).
In 1999 they released their first album, a E.P. entitled KUNZ, which was enthusiastically reviewed by several music magazines such as Il Mucchio Selvaggio, Buscadero and Rock Sound.
In March of 2001 their first CD “Tapirulant” was published, and in 2004 they released the last Album “Piccole vite da decifrare“, which received broad support from both critics and audience.
The many concerts of those years brought their music throughout Italy and in various radio and TV shows. The band has temporarily suspended the activities, but the name Pseudofonia is still alive.
Why a KUNZ Remastered:
We asked Marco Maffei, the project creator and producer, and even the RadioSpia CEO: “Because I felt the need to recover such a musical heritage of Foggia culture, to make it available worldwide. During 1995 / 1999 years, the city of Foggia was seeding several cultural movements, including the Pseudofonia genre. There were authentic, original and enthusiastic movements and desires to build something good. ‘Kunz‘ is one of the most representative“.
Notes:
The Icing on the cake. A very personal version of the classic leftist folk song Alla fiera dell’Est by Angelo Branduardi was played by the band in what would have been remembered as the last 1st of May (International Workers Day) concert.
This performance of 1998 becomes an extremely valuable document of a long gone season of great creativity and artistic and social turmoil.

Review: Live Unplugged & Yuri Recital
Live unplugged & Yuri recital: words burning between the Earth and the Sky
In a quiet night under a starry sky, in the silence of the Apulian countryside, while summer breeze gently moving green fronds and lanterns among branches, so far from the fatuous pressure of show-biz, Andrea Chimenti presented his YURI RECITAL for the first time; there were no special effects, just his passion, as intense as a flame burning between the Earth and the Sky.
I feel it’s always exciting to attend the launch of a brand new artistic project, but Andrea Chimenti’s LIVE UNPLUGGED & YURI RECITAL created a very particular energy able to reach the remote corners of human soul.
It was neither a reading nor a live concert: it was a swirling and intense journey into Chimenti’s imaginative and narrative universe.
Andrea is a very inspired artist, a gentle warrior who tries to fight against the cultural and musical flattening of these days, so cruel and defenceless. He faces a peaceful and silent but also strong and unstoppable struggle which lasts for 12 albums.
As the songs seemed not to be able to contain all the inspiration coming from his mind, Andrea dreamed up the wider novel form to tell the story of Yuri, connecting a whole young generation feeling plundered, confused, muted, forgetful but still alive, after all. It is a poetic reflection in the shape of a contemporary fairy tale that blows your mind… then it strikes the heart, going through the deepest layers of the human soul. Passing through a sad and angry present, which does not seem to foresee a future, this story arrives to the essence of matters, for the clear purpose of looking for hope and, maybe, finding it in that feeling of “resilience” which leads us to new horizons.
Chimenti, just like a good enchanter, takes us on a journey through the pages of his Yuri novel, by his deep intense voice also playing the guitar and the piano. Moreover, he played 4 songs together with some musicians belonging to the crew of RadioSpia records (Madame Butterfly & Mr. Bear, Roberto Pellicano, Giovanni Mastrangelo, Lucio Pentrella, Alessandro Lo Storto) that helped him to trace the emotional contours of this show.

ANDREA CHIMENTI IN ARRIVO A FOGGIA
CON ‘LIVE UNPLUGGED & YURI RECITAL’
Parte dal capoluogo dauno un viaggio tra musica e parole,
con l’artista alle prese con un film e un libro appena uscito.
Live Unplugged & Yuri Recital, di Andrea Chimenti è un nuovo progetto che parte martedì 24 dal nord della Puglia. Un tour ideato dall’etichetta foggiana RadioSpia, che vede la spiccata sensibilità del noto cantautore confrontarsi con musica e letteratura, nella prima parte di un tour che si appresta a girare tutta Italia.
Chimenti, leader dei Moda, uno dei gruppi capostipiti del rock italiano con Litfiba e Diaframma, è anche al suo esordio letterario con ‘Yuri’, romanzo fresco di stampa edito da Zona. Il cuore del libro sono il Terrore e l’Amore: il Terrore riferito alla assenza di memoria, al pericolo di soccombere durante il viaggio della vita, il Terrore di perdere anche il posto in cui riporre i propri sogni, mentre l’Amore è quello per il sogno stesso, per le storie impossibili e per la vita… come la sfida stessa di cominciare questo evento nella piazza pugliese, con una tre giorni ricca di appuntamenti.
Si comincia martedì 24 giugno alle ore 18, con la presentazione di ‘Yuri’ presso la Libreria Mondadori, insieme a Tony Di Corcia e si prosegue poi con una cena con l’artista, su prenotazione, presso il 
ristorante Fuori Squadro, condita anche da gradite sorprese. Mercoledì 25 è la volta di Tenuta Fujanera, dove musica e brani di una immensa bellezza vedranno Andrea Chimenti in una intensa esibizione live, con l’opening di Madame Butterfly and Mr. Bear e gli interventi musicali di Roberto Pellicano, Giovanni Mastrangelo, Lucio Pentrella, Alessandro Lo Storto ed altri, parte della scuderia di RadioSpia.
Si replica giovedì 26 giugno, a Siponto, presso il Circolo ‘Sporting Club’, per un imperdibile appuntamento con un artista definito “intoccabile” dai più grandi della critica musicale italiana.

DALLA PUGLIA, ANDREA CHIMENTI SI RACCONTA
Live Unplugged & Yuri Recital, esordio il 24 giugno a Foggia
Parte a breve da Foggia, in esclusiva, il nuovo progetto di RadioSpia: Live Unplugged & Yuri Recital, di Andrea Chimenti. Un tour che vedrà tutta la classe del cantante alle prese con musica e letteratura. Un recital-concerto per ripercorrere alcuni brani tratti dagli oltre 11 album dell’artista, ex frontman dei Moda (che, insieme ai Litfiba e Diaframma, iniziarono la new-wave in Italia) e per raccontare il suo primo recentissimo romanzo, ‘Yuri’, edito a maggio.
“L’ispirazione per questo libro nasce dall’osservazione della realtà,” – racconta Andrea, che in questo spettacolo narra e canta se stesso e la sua arte – “in particolare quella che riguarda i ragazzi oggi. Trovo che siano stati depredati dalle generazioni precedenti di una buona fetta di vita e in particolare del futuro. Yuri vuole rappresentare proprio questa condizione. Yuri non ha più memoria e, non riuscendo a comunicare, si rifugia in un mondo fantastico. La sensibilità di una casa editrice come Zona mi ha permesso di poterlo pubblicare”.
Un incontro, quello con RadioSpia, che nasce dal celebre brano di David BowieAshes to Ashes riscritto da The Alpha States & Andrea Chimenti e prodotto dalla label foggiana, come ci racconta Marco Maffei, ideatore dell’iniziativa: “Quando, a marzo, la nostra Ashes to Ashes schizzò al primo posto in Austria, al secondo in Svezia e al terzo in Spagna, nacque anche l’idea di far ascoltare Andrea Chimenti di nuovo qui in Puglia. Sono molto colpito dalla nostra forte affinità artistica e spero che questo tour porti la sua musica, la sua voce e i nostri suoni anche in Nord-Europa, presto”. Si parte dal capoluogo dauno il prossimo 24 giugno alle 18, con la presentazione del libro ‘Yuri’ insieme ad Andrea Chimenti, moderata dal giornalista e scrittore Tony Di Corcia presso la Libreria Mondadori. In serata, si prosegue con una cena con l’artista su prenotazione, presso il ristorante Fuori Squadro. Mentre il giorno successivo, il 25 giugno, presso la Tenuta Fujanera, in Contrada Quadrone delle Vigne a Foggia, spazio all’evento Live Unplugged & Yuri Recital: concerto dal vivo di Andrea Chimenti con la partecipazione di Madame Butterfly and Mr. Bear (duo pop-folk), Roberto Pellicano (voce dei Sis Felix), Giovanni Mastrangelo (bassista e contrabbassista dei Favonio) ed altri artisti della scuderìa di RadioSpia.
Un tour che parte da Foggia, quindi, e che si intende portare in giro per l’Italia e non solo; un numero zero per un evento di alta qualità: un viaggio tra musica e parole, con passi tratti dal libro e con una intensa esibizione live, con voce, piano, chitarra ed ospiti vari.
Giovedì 26 giugno, invece, l’evento farà tappa anche a Siponto, presso lo storico e prestigioso Circolo ‘Sporting Club’, per un abbraccio ideale a tutto il Gargano. La sua arte a 360°, oggi, Andrea Chimenti la racconta così: “Un processo artistico nasce sempre dalla necessità di comunicare. Per me, credo si tratti proprio di questo. Non è tanto importante il mezzo… ho privilegiato per molti anni il disegno e la musica, ma con il passare del tempo si sono affiancate nuove discipline e per ultimo la scrittura di questo romanzo, scaturito di getto. Una storia che avevo bisogno di raccontare e che ben rappresenta il mio approccio artistico in bilico tra realtà e visione. Ma la musica rimane sempre al primo posto ed è per questo che il romanzo ‘Yuri’ anticipa l’uscita dell’omonimo cd in autunno. In questi anni ho avuto occasione di lavorare in teatro e nel cinema: queste esperienze mi hanno aiutato a crescere trovando nuovi stimoli. In musica difficilmente mi ripeto tra un disco e l’altro, ho bisogno di sperimentare e di spingermi ogni volta un po’ più in là… una delle cose che temo maggiormente nell’arte, come nella vita, è lo stagno. Muovere le acque è la mia occupazione principale”.
Un artista completo ed in ottima forma, quindi, che parte con una nuova serie di concerti dal nord della Puglia.

RadioSpia presenta Live Unplugged & Yuri Recital, dal 24 giugno in Puglia
A giugno arriva in Puglia, in esclusiva, grazie all’etichetta discografica RadioSpia, tutta la classe del cantautore Andrea Chimenti. La label foggiana, infatti, ha ideato un mini-tour che partirà proprio dal capoluogo dauno il prossimo 24 giugno, con la presentazione di Yuri, il primo romanzo di Chimenti, raccontato dall’autore e dal giornalista e scrittore Tony Di Corcia, presso la Libreria Mondadori.
La serata proseguirà con una cena con l’artista, su prenotazione, presso il Fuori Squadro (in vico Arco Contini) e farà tappa, il giorno successivo, presso Tenuta Fujanera, in Contrada Quadrone delle Vigne, nei pressi di via Bari (a Foggia), per un concerto dal vivo che ospiterà anche altri musicisti della squadra di RadioSpia, come Madame Butterfly & Mr. Bear (duo pop-folk), Roberto Pellicano (mitica voce dei Sis Felix), Giovanni Mastrangelo (bassista e contrabbassista dei Favonio) ed altri. Chimenti, negli anni Ottanta, era la voce dei Moda, gruppo musicale new wave nato a Firenze, che si ispirava ai Japan e ai Duran Duran. Poi Andrea Chimenti ha costruito intorno alla sua voce e alla sua musica una incredibile carriera da solista, con meraviglie come l’album ‘L’Albero Pazzo’, grandi successi come ‘Vietato Morire’ e il suo ultimo lavoro ‘Tempesta di Fiori’.
Dopo alcune apparizioni cinematografiche, tra cui ‘Sono pazzo di Iris Blond’ di Carlo Verdone, in cui canta il brano ‘Black Hole’ e un film in veste di protagonista appena uscito ‘Sexy Shop’, collaborazioni varie, un duetto con il noto compositore d’avanguardia inglese David Sylvian e una cover del celebre brano di David Bowie ‘Ashes to Ashes’ realizzato da The Alpha States & Andrea Chimenti, pubblicato a marzo proprio da RadioSpia, Chimenti si cimenta con la scrittura pubblicando lo scorso 8 maggio il suo primo romanzo, ‘Yuri’, storia di un ragazzo che perde puntualmente memoria e tenta di sopravvivere in un mondo ostile e sadico, aggrappandosi a un libro, che ricorda molto a una coperta di Linus… E così Andrea porta in Puglia questo suo viaggio tra musica e parole, con il recital tratto dal libro e una intensa esibizione live, in cui canterà accompagnandosi al piano e alla chitarra.
Il 26 giugno l’evento farà tappa anche nello storico e prestigioso Circolo Sporting Club di Siponto, per dare un abbraccio ideale a tutto il Gargano.

The brainchild of RadioSpia Records, Andrea Chimenti in mini tour
between music and words, to tell … Yuri and himself
A journey with music, with words and with the voice of an incredible artist: singer, author, composer, musician, actor and much more: this is the meaning of the mini tour in Puglia by Andrea Chimenti, voice and frontman of Moda in the Eighties.
The event will start from Foggia on June 24, with the presentation of Yuri, the first novel by Andrea Chimenti, at Libreria Mondadori at 18 and with a dinner appointment with the artist at Fuori Squadro (in vico Arco Contini) and it will continue in Capitanata and Puglia, in a few days, thanks to the enthusiasm of the label RadioSpia, that promotes music as an art and not as a trend and highlights the talents of our territory in Italy and in the rest of the world.
A recital from the book “YURI” published by Zona (released last May 8), a lot of music and songs of great beauty for a sophisticated live performance, in which Andrea Chimenti will sing accompanied with piano and guitar.
On some stages of the event, Andrea’s performance will be enriched with additional musical guests coming from the stable of the label RadioSpia, which just in March has published a remake of the famous song by David Bowie “Ashes to Ashes” by The Alpha States and Andrea Chimenti.
After his experience with the Moda, Andrea Chimenti since 1992 has built a career as a popular soloist, collaborating with Gianni Maroccolo and many others. In his album L’Albero Pazzo (1996) a duet with the famous British avant-garde composer David Sylvian, historical frontman of the Japan.
